How to Bring Teachers College to Your School!

[Notes from a Q&A Session about Bringing TC to your school]

At TC
Two Saturday Reunions across the year. They are open to the public, even if you haven’t attended.
-No charge
-No registration
-Keynote, 30 sessions in rotations, ending keynote

Last week in August: Twitter chats

Making webinars (will be posted on the website when it’s ready to go)

Work Done In Schools: (On-Site Staff Developer)
5 days for K-2 and 5 days for 3-5 (Won’t work in a school for less than 5 days b/c that’s not good staff development. Also won’t let a district spread the 5 days around buildings)

For each grade:
45 min in classrooms
45 min meetings afterwards (Whatever teachers need---It’s like a mini workshop)
Include resource teacher/ESL teacher/ etc.
They strongly urge the principal to be part of it
Time to meet with principals, coaches, etc.
($2,000/day + expenses)

How the schedule works depends on the location

One Day Overview of Units of Study
Can take up to 100 people
$3,200
(For schools that don’t have money for staff development)

Home Grown Institutes
Effective for a lot of people
Only do it for 4 or 5 days
1 developer per 25 people
Grade level specific
$2,000/day + expenses

10 days or more give you access to resources (Atlas Rubicon, Treasure Chest, etc.)

Waiting list is going already!
